FAQs

Dr. Smith will review your paper work and take a full history regarding your concerns. If you have imaging, please bring them and the radiology report. We do not do x-rays or MRI in this office, but if warranted will refer you to imaging. Based on your history, a thorough exam will be done to determine the causes and possible approaches to improving your health. We generally treat on the first visit. If you need cranial therapy, that will generally be done on a follow-up visit as it is best to bring more stability to the spine and pelvis first.

I usually recommend anywhere from every 2-6 weeks, usually 4 weeks. It depends upon your past history, age and current liefestyle.

No. I have several techniques we can use to adjust the neck. Just one of them is the manual “cracking”. I always respect patient preferences and tolerances. That always creates the most therapeutic results.

I create a treatment plan for each new patient. How often you need to come in depends upon the issues that need to be solved and your overall health. Typically patients will start at two to three times per week and taper down as they improve.

The blocks are padded wedges that I place under the pelvis. They align and stabilize the pelvis. Because the rest of the spine stacks up on the sacrum, leveling the pelvis takes tension out of the whole nervous system.

Very rarely will I do an adjustment where you lie on your side and twist the lower back. When I first started, I used to all the time, but the blocks are much more effective, safe and non-invasive way to address the lower back.

The new patient appointment is 40 minutes, please arrive a little early for paperwork. Adjustments are 10-15 minutes. Adjusting with cranial work is 20-30 minutes. Concussion consultations are 30 minutes and can be done either in person or on-line.

Financial questions

The initial exam is $195. With the new patient special, that includes the first treatment. Adjustments and cranial work are $90 each when paying one at a time or $80 each when purchasing packages of six. Most people take advantage of this savings when starting treatment.

I am only a provider for Medicare. I consider this my public service. If you have a PPO, we can check your out of network benefits and bill for you or you can self-pay and we will provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company.

Yes. Just make sure you let us know and we will print or email you superbills if you need them.

We can process Medpay claims through your auto policy. We also accept some liens depending upon the case and the lawyer.
